Lifted Strong works as community advocates to help educate, mentor, and counsel vulnerable populations around Arusha . LISCO provides medical care and education to families who have limited to no access to basic and essential services. LISCO with Tanzania Host Experience (THE) helps connect doctors, nurses and dentists from around the world to local villages. These medical professionals help educate and pass out necessary medicines.

LISCO sponsors ten to twelve women a year in our education classes. We provide these women with English, business, and health classes daily. We help them establish business plans as well as give them the necessary capital to be successful in their business. The women also gain life long friendships and a support network of like minded women. Our volunteers from around the world help us with the education process.

Arusha is a city in Tanzania, east Africa. It’s located at the base of volcanic Mt. Meru. It’s also a gateway for safari destinations and to Africa’s highest peak Mt. Arusha is easily accessible via two airports. Arusha Municipal Airport (ARK), a domestic airport and Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). Hotels in Arusha are about 15-60 minutes away from these two airports.
Arusha Airport (Domestic)
Most popular option for tourists to get to Arusha is to take a flight to Arusha airport (ARK). It has daily flights from various local destinations and has connections from almost all major airports and airstrips in Tanzania.Arusha airport has multiple flights from major cities like Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar everyday.
